How Background noise affects attention in cognitive tasks

This experimental study examined how background music affects introverts’ and extroverts’ performance on a reading comprehension task. By applying theories such as Kahneman’s capacity model of attention, Yerkes-Dodson law, and Eysenck’s theory of personality, I explored the impact that different tempos of music have on cognitive performance. The goal of this project was to support work and study habits for college students, with the goal of improving overall cognitive functioning and performance.
